We have a Lunar calendar (along with the Georgian\Solar calendar). The lunar calendar consider the full round of the moon as one month, which becomes either 29 or 30 days.
The lunar year is 12 months ofcourse. The 9th month is Ramadan, according to Hijri calendar.(I don’t like to link to wikipedia without reading the article, so Disclaimer: I’m not responsible for any wrong ideas you may take from outer links!)
Some nations are also using the lunar calendar (wiki again!), like Japan (or is it Chnia? I’m not sure. Maybe both!) .
In Ramadan, Muslims (Who are Muslims?) don’t eat & drink in the daylight (i.e. from sunshine till sunset). The action of not eating & drinking is called ‘fasting’. Do you think it’s difficult? it’s not! In the first day, you may feel dizzy or some headache especially @the end of the first day (I do!), yet the rest of the days will go smooth. Of course if the person will be affected negatively by fasting, like patients, then they should not fast.
This’s a brief definition. I’ll update it whenever I can.
